So many questions!!

I'm so confused with the whole Zencart experience that I'm just ready to throw my hat at it. I installed it successful and everything went fine. It wasn't until I looked how to customize my store that I got stuck. I still don't know how to go about this and I can't seem to find the right answer online either. Any links that I can look at to customize my store?? Anyone willing to put my store together??

Re: So many questions!!

Have you looked at the free templates available from the Add Ons link - http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=40_53.

Find a template that is 80% of the way there in what you are looking for. You'll find it is much easier to customise from there than starting from scratch customising a store based on the Classic template.

To see most of the templates in action without needing to install them - have a look at this site: http://(sorry, site offline)/

Hope this helps,
K

Re: So many questions!!

Am I missiing something here? I went to the templates and saw a lot of downloads for the templates but no screenshots of what they look like before I download it.

Are there images of what they look like?

If no - might be a good idea, saves you some potential bandwidth :D

If yes, then I'm a blind moron who needs better glasses - LOL:yes:

Re: So many questions!!

From the home page of http://(sorry, site offline)/ you have 2 choices:

  1. See Screenshots
From here you will see lots of thumbnail images. Forget the links underneath and click on the first thumbnail. An enlarged image of the template will be displayed and then there are arrows to go to the next template. You can just scroll through all the templates from here and view the home page of them all.
  2. Go to the Demo
If you choose this option, an actual Zen Cart Store will load displaying the first template. The top sidebox on the right hand side is a 'Template Switcher'. When you want to see how a template will look on a live site, select the name of the template from the Template Switcher and the store will refresh using that template.
    Hope this helps.
