(Filter Results by: Items starting with...)change to Categories

I am using version v1.3.8 and just setting up shop!

When I click on the Manufaturers side box it brings up all products by that manufaturer. On that page I get a (Filter Results by: Items starting with...) Is there anyway I change that to filter by Categories.
