Canada Post addon -- won't work on GoDaddy

I'd like to install the canada post addon but my site is hosted with godaddy. I just contacted them and they said they do not have port 30000 open to send and receive. Are there any other options for me to be able to run this addon? or any other similar addons that don't require this port? or am i stuck with not being able to use it if I'm with godaddy?

Correct. You can't use that module if you're hosted with GoDaddy.
Canada Post only transmits/receives shipping quote data on port 30000. There is no other option if you want live interactive quotes from their server.

Your alternatives include:
a) a different method of preparing shipping quotes
b) a smarter more business-appropriate hosting provider

Any suggestions on a better host that i can run this with?

If using zone shipping method, is there a way to set the zones by province rather then by country?
