Why are my Specials prices showing with strikethrough?

Hi,
When i make any product as special - I mean with discounts it strikes out both pre and post discount prices. I dont understand why it does like this. While it doesnt give any problems while checking out( it still reflects new price only) but it certainly doesnt give good picture in the home page. Any idea on how to resolve this issue?

Please have a look at the below image

http://wowstoreonline.com//index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=48_49&products_id=129

Appreciate your help

Re: Why are my Specials prices showing with strikethrough?

this can be fixed using CSS. open your stylesheet.css and modify
line 455
.productSpecialPrice, .normalprice, .productSpecialPriceSale, .productSpecialPriceSale {
color:#000000;
text-decoration:line-through;

}

you can remove text-decoration from this rule. this will also effect productSpecialPriceSale . if you want to have line-through for productSpecialPriceSale , then i suggest making another rule at the end of your CSS to reflect that change .

.productSpecialsPriceSale (
color:#000000;
text-decoration:line-through;
}

Hey thanks a ton Tony. Brilliant. I have removed both the strike outs. But just a clarification

  1. I tried entering the last lines towards the end of my CSS but couldnt see the special price only being striked out. Am i doing something wrong here? I even changed specials to special and ( to { still not change :cry:
  2. What if i want to only strike out the normal price what should i be doing? :unsure:

Re: Why are my Specials prices showing with strikethrough?

Here's what I did..

I removed .productSpecialPrice, .productSpecialPriceSale, from the following line (below).. (and changed the strikethrough colour to RED - HEX=#FF0000)

.productSpecialPrice, .normalprice, .productSpecialPriceSale {

text-decoration:line-through;

color :#FF0000;

}

and then added Tonys addition at the bottom of my CSS file..

.productSpecialsPriceSale (
color:#000000;
text-decoration:line-through;
}

..and that did the job for me. My NORMAL Price is now RED with a strikethrough, and the new SPECIAL price was BLACK without the strikethrough.

See it in action at - http://www.buybenchmark.co.uk

Hope that helps..
