Can I Set Up Volume Discounts Across Individual Products?

My customer sells products that come with attributes most people are unfamiliar with.

For example, she sells herbal soaps made of vetiver, of aloe, and of patchouli. Each soap needs a sentence or two of description. However, volume discounts need to be applied to all soaps --- buying ten vetiver bars should trigger the same discount as buying four vetiver, four aloe, and two patchouli.

How can this be accomplished?

ZenCart v1.3.8a.
No upgrade; this is a fresh install.
No add-ons.
Running on one of GoDaddy's UNIX servers.

Quantyfi your data. Give fixed values to products. Let's say aloe = 1 pachouli = 1.2 etc. When buying sum them and check in what discount category(pre-established category) they are.

Are you trying to do the Discounts on a Per Product basis where products_id 27 has:
vetiver
aloe
patchouli

as attribute choices and you want to apply discounts to a Mixed quantity for the "four vetiver, four aloe, and two patchouli" ...

Are you using Priced by Attribute or does the Product have the price?

If the Product has the price, then you can use the Discount Quantities in the Products Price Manager ...

The Product should be set to Mixed YES (the default setting) and then you can setup you quantity price breaks in the Products Price Manager ...

NOTE: If these are separate Products, then you might look into some of the Free Software Add Ons for this kind of discount ...

Actually, I'd rather set up:

Product_27: aloe
Product_28: patchouli
Product_29: vetiver

This gives more room for description.

Product_27, Product_28, and Product_29 all have the same base price: $5.50. The price structure is:

1-2: $5.50 each.
3-9: $5.00 each.
10 or more: $4.75 each.

Buying any mix of the products should trigger the discount.

If I apply the built-in discount to a single item, it works just fine. Ideally, I'd like to apply that across all three items.

Does the Quantity Discounts add-in work at cart insertion, or at check-out?

he built in Quantity Discounts are for a per Product discount based on quantity for each Product ... it is not based on a combination of Products ...

There is an add on for something like this but I forget its name other than Quantity and/or Discount is in the name ...

Perhaps someone recalls where that add on would be and can help out here ... :smile:

I have a very similar issue...

How do I add quantity discounts to ALL my products?

I know how to do it individually, but would like to do it for ALL of my products. Also if possible; I would like to be able to do it by category because the price breaks are different.

Any help would be appreciated!!!
