I'm in a hosted environment, so my stuff isn't installed in the root directory, if that's what you are meaning, and it looks like most everything is there, I can find the index php, but e107 changes the start file to news.php somewhere, either in MySQL or apache or somewhere, and its not executing the index.php, though it is right. It just shows a blank page. There are backup directories in some of the main directories, and if the e107 developers were good, some of it should be backed up. Most of it installs into its own directories, though on installation, it did make zencart non-functional because it switched the startup .php module. I just don't know if there is a configuration file as in oracle, or a shell script or something that directs the MySQL instance to startup running a certain package, or if that is handled by Apache.
Its sort of a simple question. I'm willing to deal with fallout from there on in, but I shouldn't have to reinstall just to get a php program to display as index.php.
The directory structures look okay, the same as far as zencart is concerned, for the most part.
If someone can just help me figure out how to get apache/mysql to boot the right page, it would help. Perhaps I'm having a permissions problem, I will check that as well. Thanks for the help, and I really don't want to reinstall, and don't see I should have to. Its like really "Microsoftish" I mean this is UNIX. As an x admin, I wouldn't want to have to back up off of tape for something like this. I realize I'm naive as far as this web stuff goes, but I'm trying to learn. Any direction here on config files. Is there a MySQL.ini? something like that?
