How can I protect my site from malicious attack? Security Recommendations

I was reading over the steps to protect my cart and have a question. The installation was done with simple scripts from my server. I cannot find a /zc install file. Does that mean once the installation was done the simple scripts dumped it?

This is so complicated for someone who does not understand the programming side of this cart. yeowzer!

Yes. The zc_install folder is deleted after the installation is complate, for security reasons.
