Help I need to empty my store

Hope someone has done this before.

My store products are crosslinked, and showing in wrong catagories.

Can I empty my store completely of everytrhing, but leave the structure intact, so that i can then re-import my products.

The easiest way I have found to do it is to drop the categories, categories_description, products and products_description tables from the Zen Cart Database and reimport new one's using phpmyadmin. I have original exports of those tables on my drive for just that reason since some of my hosting customers mess up their categories and products from time to time and it beats a new install. There maybe a better way, but I find this the easiest.

could i export the structure of those tables to new tables, rename old tables, an name the new tables to the old one.

Not sure that can even be done, I would export the tables you want to reset and then drop them and import new virgin ones. If you need the table exports PM me and I can email them to you just let me know if you have a table prefix or not.

Hi,

I had a play around.

I uses mysqladmin, and copy the table (structure only to new_table name)

renamed my zen_tables to old_tables

renamed my new_tables to zen_tables

so far it seems to be working.

Let me know if this is going to cause any issues later.

ps. thanks for the offer, my products table have additional fields added to it, so the structure is not virgin
