Bad Request (400) on Add to Cart in Safari/Chrome

Hi,

I have recently taken over hosting for a site which is running Zen Cart. I did not have any prior experience with Zen Cart before taking over this site.

I updated their installation from 1.3.7 > 1.3.8.

Now we have noticed that when using Safari (PC/Mac) or Chrome (PC) when you click "Add to Basket" you get:

"Bad Request
Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand."

The URI accessed that gives this error is: "http://www.d e m o n g r a p h i c s.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=9&products_id=36&number_of_uploads=0&action=add_product".

I've absolutely no idea what could be causing this, i've checked in FF/IE7/IE8 and there are no issues in any of them. The issues just appear to be in Chrome and Safari.

If anyone has any ideas at all, that would be great. A search on google threw up a thread or two which had similar issues, but there was no resolution posted.

Thanks,
Dave C

Re: Bad Request (400) on Add to Cart in Safari/Chrome

Hello,

I have now fixed this issue. It was caused by one of the mod_security rules.

Basically that POST request was being flagged as a possibly naughty request by mod_security.

Cheers,
Dave

Can you share which rule was being triggered? And where that rule came from? (ie: did you add it, or was it added as a result of an automated update, etc?)
