Cannot get Buy Now Button to activate

I saw a thread dating back to june 2005, the only one I could find and followed instructions, seems the person was having same problem but buy now button would not show up anywhere.
I have activated it in the admin/configuration/All Listings. i've entered the value as 1302.
Supposedly by setting the "Display Multiple Products Qty Box Status and Set Button Location" to 0 this would get the Buy Now button to display.
It did not.

Can anybody help me with this.

Does your products have attributes? If so, the Buy Now button won't work.

None of my products have attributes that I know of. How would I find out if any have and if so how do I remopve them.

Attributes are size, color, or something that your customer would have to choose about the product they want before adding to the cart.

Thanks for the heads up. It was the thread I was using it's just I hadn't gone far enough to see the changes to the english.php file.
I did get it working though.
