How to disable the send gift certificate option

I'm trying to figure out how to disable the send gift certificate option. After someone checks out, the payment confirmation screen gives the customer an option to send the remainder of his gift certificate to a friend... How do we disable this option? I have already uninstalled the gift certificate module, but this did not fix it. Any suggestions are appreciated. :bigups:
