Subcategory Image placement/line up?

Hello
Subcategory Image placement - how is this controlled?
I would like 2, then 2 more, down the page.
Right now my page is trying to display 3 Subcategory Images along side each other which are too big to fit. (attached image)

admin > config > maximum values > Categories To List Per Row
