product page does not have an 'add to cart' button or link

I've been trying to days to get my store to work. In the payments module set-up for paypal website payments standard I've triple checked all the parameters and I can't get past a green button and a status of 'processing'. The IPN check tool shows no communications errors. I am at a loss trying to get this last step completed! I have one test product in the store listed for $0.01 just to confirm things and the product page does not have an 'add to cart' button or link anywhere. HELP!

The word "processing" there is simply telling you what status new orders will receive if they are paid-for using that module. IT is NOT an indicator of something you need to wait for before the module itself becomes active. It's referring to new orders which use that module.> kaylaugh:

The IPN check tool shows no communications errors.Excellent.

Sounds like you set your store into showcase mode, thus no add-to-cart functionality is enabled.

Re: product page does not have an 'add to cart' button or link

paypal standard is an odd partner. you shouldnt have a green paypal button per say on your cart. what happens is one of two routes with paypal standard. either you allow paypal from the start to take them off site to return aka express or you force them to fill out all the information on your site until the end and then it takes them off site to paypal. with paypal standard takes them via your cart to the end and then takes them off site to paypal for final and all you really need to enter is from the paypal site
PDT Token (Payment Data Transfer) and thats in modules>payment>paypal standard IPN . the code comes from the paypal site.

If you have issues with this module, remove it and then reinstall. the other option is paypal express which takes them off site at the begining and returns them. the process is about the same for that but the information is slightly different but still comes from paypal.

this article helps but i assure you most of the info and setup comes at the paypal side. this is for express but i usually use standard which you have to get the pdt from paypal. http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=15

The person was talking about the green icon next to the PayPal Standard module in their Admin area ... which is a perfectly normal thing if the module is installed for use.
