Is McAee useful?

Anyone used it for your website?
Will it help you improve your security level? Will it help you attract more customers?

Re: Is McAee useful?

If you are referring to McAfee PCI Scanning I can't say as I have never used them.

I used to use McAfee anti-virus scanner and can say that it was great - at letting me know that it had intercepted a virus, right AFTER it had left the virus through. After reformatting the hard drive twice and reinstalling everything I switched to using AVG Pro.

We and our customers have used Security Metrics for PCI Scanning and it's not been too painful.

Re: Is McAee useful?

McAfee is hot and heavy, calling repeatedly and offering a 20% discount if I up for a year with them at $975.00/yr.

The rep tries to say that the mere presence of their seal conveys trust and I will see a 'huge' number of conversions. I countered that the Security Metrics seal that we have did the same.

Anybody have any practical experience with having a McAfee seal on their site?

Thanks

Re: Is McAee useful?

I was offered a 30 day free trial and have had the safe seal on my site for a lil under a week now....while sales are slowly increasing I believe this ir more to due with the site having been recently launched and my advertising to get the word out than the seal itself and probably won't keep it afterwards, the yearly fee is just over a thousand dollars for me and just not justifiable at the moment, but I did want to test it out and see if it would have any 'major' impact or not lol

Re: Is McAee useful?

I'm with you, I think I can spend $1000 better than with McAfee.

Thanks
