Free Shipping to Certain Zip Codes only?

Hi all,

I'm having a ridiculously hard time finding the answer to this, although it may be from lack of sleep... so if I overlooked a simple fix, please go easy on me ;) :frusty:

I actually have 2 problems that I'm trying to find a simple solution to: Being able to have free shipping on 1-5 specific zip codes without other customers seeing the option.. and secondly, being able to force a certain shipping method based on zone..

The first part is pretty self explanatory; I just need to know how to set it up so if I deliver the product myself to local customers that they pay a specific flat rate, or free if flat rate is not possible, without customers that aren't local to me even seeing that option to prevent ordering issues...

The second part is basically due to the fact that I will be mailing chocolate, and in the event we spread out beyond my locale, I don't want a customer to be able to select USPS 3 day options etc, and only be able to select UPS/FEDEX Next day or Two Day air.

Sorry if I'm being vague, or if I'm rambling.. again I'm working on no sleep and this isn't making it easier for me to relax :(

Such highly customized shipping situations that have added complexity are probably best-served by Conor Kerr's Advanced Shipping Module - probably with the Advanced Regions bolt-on.

Please note that these are commercially available modules, and that I have no commercial interest in Conor's businesses.

I just know that they work...

I did take a peek at that add-on, but I was hoping for a fix here that wouldn't end up being TOO complex..

That being said if a simple code fix here is not feasible, is this something that the aforementioned mod can actually handle? I'd hate to pay thirty bucks for something that got me into the same boat I'm in now...

I think I will attempt to leave it up to the customer to read before they buy, and only select the home delivery method if they reside in one of 5 local towns... if that doesn't work as well as planned I'll pony up the cash for the addon.
