Hide Sold out product from Product Listing page

Hi all,

Quick question.

I want to hide the sold out product from product listing page..

Let say the url is this : http://somesite.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=2

So i need to check stock for that product and only display if it's not 0.

Now, which file should i edit in order to achieve this?

I edited the product_listing.php

you shouldnt edit the core files for this its completely uneccesary, i would advise you to put back whatever code you took out and then goto:

admin> configuration> stock> Products status in Catalog when out of stock should be set to: (then choose 0 for off or 1 for on)

setting this to off will stop un-stocked products displaying.

thanks but yes, it was already set to off. But the "Sold out" items were still displayed in the category and were marked as sold out.

What i want to achieve is wipe out the sold out item completely from the category since i want to have a separate category "Sold out" and showed everything there (which i already did by modifying the product_all code and copying all the instances to new file as sold_out_item) .

Any easy way to do this from the admin setting that i might missed?

Try marking the product as Out of Stock. It should not list then.
