possible to batch upload products to ZC?

I'm sure this feature either exists, or has been thought of.

Is it possible to submit a file of product information into ZC via an API (or something)? If not, it looks like adding products to the system will be my most time-consuming chore. (All of our products will be one-offs, too, so it's not like we'll get to re-use them.)

Also: can someone tell me the difference between a category and a product type?

A product type is sort of an uber-category which allows you to do different things like decide whether or not the products in that type can be added to the cart, and determine the layout the product info page differently from other types, etc. Check the items in Admin - Catalog - Product Type - Edit Layout to see what can be different. It's a very handy option in some situations.
