White page right after paying with PayPal express

I have read a bunch of posts, still cannot figure it out.

I am setting up a candy shop using version 1.38 with the French add-on portion.
Also added the 2 taxes Canadian add-on.

The setup is almost all done except that when I want to pay using PayPal express, after zen cart bring me to the PayPal login page, after I to pay the screen then goes white ...

I tested the Curl using the Curlcheck util and the IPN using the IPNtest util, they both tell me they are fine ...

Any idea ??

I forgot, when I press payment it goes to
http://mysite.com/index.php?main_page=checkout_process
with a white page ...

Thanks for the quick info but I am missing something ... no log is being added in the cache forlder ...

I do get something different when paying now
The website cannot display the page HTTP 500
Most likely causes:
•The website is under maintenance.
•The website has a programming error.

Then if I go back PayPal says:

Sorry — your last action could not be completed
If you were making a purchase or sending money, we recommend that you check both your PayPal account and your email for a transaction confirmation after 30 minutes.

If you came to this page from another website, please return to that site (don't use your browser's Back button) and restart your activity.

If you came from PayPal's website, click the PayPal logo in the upper-left corner to return to our home page and restart your activity. You might have to log in again.
I did try the configure.php trick and see the red message but cannot see it on paypal of course ...
I also did the installation of the Debug Error-Logging Utility and still no log files ...

I will keep working on it. Let me know if you have more ...

Error #500 means "Internal Server Error", and the "reason" for that is as varied as the number of seconds in a day. But the cause will be documented in the server's apache errorlog. You or your hosting company will be able to see the error there. Hopefully they'll have an answer as to the reason behind the cause listed there.

OK march 2nd, I got a bit further ...

I was able to get a log file, a few, made.

This is what I get

On March 3 I took everything out and installed the PayPal Pro with IPN only. No Express.

It is working fine for the owner of the store.

It does the job and comes back to the store after the transaction is done.

Pro is just fine and I'm sure it is secure enough.

What version of PHP are you using? Perhaps you're using a newer PHP version which is forcing special treatment of variables not previously enforced.

Anyway it is working just fine and it plain vanilla PayPal :)
