ITransact Module issues

DrByte:

You might try this:
http://www.zen-cart.com/archived_contributions/payment/
I have tried clicking on this link to download the module, but I get a server error. Does anyone have an updated download link for this particular ITransact payment module? Thank you!

Re: ITransact Module issues

OK, i found the module somewhere else and when an order is placed and try to pay this is the error message I get:

YOUR TRANSACTION COULD NOT BE PROCESSED AND HAS BEEN CANCELED.
THE FOLLOWING ERROR OCCURRED:

This account is temporarily offline for technical reasons. Please try back later. We apologize for the inconvenience.

If applicable, you may return to the previous page and correct the error.
To return to the previous page, press the BACK button on your browser
(ALT+Left Arrow) or click here.

Does anybody know why I would be getting this and how I can fix it? Is it with the module, or on the servers end? Thank you!

Re: ITransact Module issues

This account is temporarily offline for technical reasons.

Please forgive my bluntness -- I don't mean to sound rude ... but ... when I read that kind of error message, I immediately think about "okay, which 'account' could it possibly be talking about?". Then, I think about it in detail, and it logically can't be talking about the customer. And it can't be a customer's credit card, because a card wouldn't be "temporarily offline"; it would be "declined". So, since the message is happening in relation to the particular payment module, that means it must be the account you're using for sending transactions to the gateway. Thus, it's your iTransact Account number/name/whatever that's the problem.

During the many days you say you've been "not getting a response", have you considered this thought process? Have you contacted iTransact to get their specific help with the error message they are sending to you?
If not, I recommend that you try that.

It's quite possible that the module might be out of date and no longer compatible with their servers (it was written 6 years ago). If that's the case, you'll have to work with them to update it, or hire someone to do that for you if that's not a skill you possess.

I am installing this module for a friend and this is not my account. I have been working with the owner of the site and she has contacted both ITransact and her hosting company. They have both said it was not on their end. I read in another thread about this module that others have had the same problem, so I just took a shot in the dark and posted the questions here. I did not realize that it would be an erroneous question, so I apologize. I thought we had asked all the other questions before I posted it here and when I posted the question, I just got a response requesting me not to post in 2 places but no answer to the original question. So I waited a couple days. I know not long, but normally these forums are pretty quick on the responses. When I did not get one, I posted it again. So, again, I apologize.

I guess I will have the owner of the site contact both the hosting company and ITransact for further answers if there is nothing possibly wrong with the module. Thank you for taking the time to respond, I do sincerely appreciate it.

Re: ITransact Module issues

I'm not convinced that the module itself is not to blame. As I said, it's very old.
If iTransact is telling you it's not them, then I suppose you could look up the error text in the module files and see what sort of error condition is triggering that message to be displayed. Then sort out with itransact why that error condition would be triggered. Basically troubleshoot by reverse-engineering the logic to find out what it's doing or not doing. The itransact documentation should in theory be of some help.

While I can't say with certainty, I'd be surprised if it were a hosting issue unless it's just that the host is blocking the communications to the itransact gateway due to firewall settings.

Re: ITransact Module issues

I'm using Zen Cart v1.3.8 and have installed the donated itransact payment module found here and have configured it using the correct Vendor ID and have put my gateway into test mode via the iTransact terminal controls (and use their test CC# as their own instructions advise), but get the following error when I try to submit a test purchase via the Zen Cart interface:

h_t_t_p://mystore_IP_address/index.php?main_page=checkout_payment&payment_error=itransact&error=The+credit+card+number+starting+with++was+not+entered+correctly%2C+or+we+do+not+accept+that+kind+of+card.+Please+try+again+or+use+another+credit+card.&itransact_cc_owner=&itransact_cc_expires_month=&itransact_cc_expires_year=

Is this error being generated locally by the module in Zen Cart, or is it proof that my test submission hit iTransact's server but was returned with a failure?

I will check with a WireShark capture after I post this message just to settle my mind...

Has anyone gotten the iTransact payment module to work? The only parameter in the Zen Cart payment gateway interface for the iTransact module that could be incorrect is the IP Address the transactions are being sent to but I can't find such an address anywhere on the web, including at iTransact. The default IP that comes with the module is 65.113.114.142 and I've tried lookups on this but only get an ISP. If I go to the http and XML web developer toolkits page offered by iTransact they use secure.itransact.com (not an IP address for form post submissions) and then offer various switches depending on the form type you are using, which don't appear to have any relevance to submissions submitted from the payment module in Zen Cart.

Anyway, we're dead in the water right now and will have to cancel our account with iTransact and go someplace else unless we can get them integrated with Zen Cart. So, any advice or feedback would be most appreciated.

Thanks,

Wulf

Re: ITransact Module issues

Actually I got the module from here. I would simply have corrected my post, but apparently you can't edit your own posts here.

Were you ever able to get the iTransact module to work?

I am having a new issue now with the redirects from the gateway to the store again. Trying to work that out now. How did you do with it?
