postal cost from UK

Hello tyhere,
can someone please explain how to set up the 2 postal costs that I will need to post our from the UK?
These are For
'Europe'
and
'The Rest Of The World'

These are all that we need for UK International postage, but I cannot fathom outr how to set them up?
Any help greatly appreciated.

Are you referring to only Royal Mail postage rates? Or are you looking to use ParcelForce as well? (Parcelforce is cheaper when amounts over a certain weight are calculated.)

Which one(s) are you intending to use?

It is VITAL that before you attempt to set up shipping, you have detailed rates and destinations schedules from the organisation who are going to do your shipping.

Once you have these schedules, you can start planning how to set this up in zencart.

hello there,
we use Royal Mail 1st class airmail, which gives the 2 options of either to Europe or to The Rest Of The World.
We already have the prices per weight of each item.
What we lack is the experience to add these to our ZenCart system.
As stated, we only need these 2 (Europe & Rest Of World) as we only send Internationsl mail using Royal Mail from the UK.
As we also use a busininess collection service and PPI, we can easily calculate each weight/cost.

Hi Ed...

Your best bet is to use the ZONE TABLES MODULE available here:

This is a combination of the ZONE module and the TABLE module, and will sort out your need to have Two zones for it.

I trust you know how to set up your ZONE DEFINITIONS in zencart?

BEFORE you activate this module, your zone definitions HAVE to be set up.

You need to create TWO zone definitions:

1. Europe
2. Rest of World

Under each Zone Definition, you need to insert all the appropriate countries:

1. Europe
   . . France
   . . Germany
   . . Spain
   . . Italy
   . . . . (etc) until ALL European countries served by RM Airmail are listed in the Zone Definition)

2. Rest of World
   . . Afghanistan
   . . Albania
   . . (etc) all the way to...
   . . Zimbabwe

This will take you a while but must be done. You can of course OMIT all countries you do NOT intend to sell to. (realistically, what are the chances of a customer coming in from Equatorial Guinea? And if they did, can you trust them?

When you have set up your zone definitions, ONLY THEN do you activate the ZONETABLES module and configure it.

You CANNOT later add more zones (for zone definitions) when using this module, so if you decide to later change shipping method, this module will have to be uninstalled BEFORE you add the new zones, and then re-installed.

Not a problem if you intend to stick with RM Airmail.

Under the country "United Kingdom", do you have all the COUNTIES listed?

(In a standard Zencart install, there are no UK Counties installed... These can be added using a SQL command...)

Without the counties, you cannot configure Royal Mail Shipping.

apologies if this seems a stupid question, but we offer free UK postage (postage included in price), so do we need to install all of the counties?

If UK post is "free" there is no need to install the UK counties.

Just configure UK for free shipping.

okay, I understand that.
My question still remains though, how do I set up the other 2 RM areas of 'Europe' & 'The Rest Of The World'?
