Disabling sideboxes on specific pages (ie the Checkout page)

Hi there,

I apologize if this was readily available but I couldn't find an answer through search (or Google).

I am attempting to display only the main column on my shopping cart checkout page - not the right or left columns of sideboxes. At present the right column of sideboxes displays sitewide. This is mostly good but it pushes the content of my signup & checkout page over (I am using Fast and Easy Checkout).

Would anyone be able & willing to tell me how to disable specific columns/boxes on specific pages?

Best Regards,
Daniel

Re: Disabling sideboxes on specific pages (ie the Checkout page)

includes/templates/template_default/common/tpl_main_page.php

Around lines 41 - 45

// the following IF statement can be duplicated/modified as needed to set additional flags
  if (in_array($current_page_base,explode(",",'list_pages_to_skip_all_right_sideboxes_on_here,separated_by_commas,and_no_spaces')) ) {
    $flag_disable_right = true;
  }

replace this bit:
**
list_pages_to_skip_all_right_sideboxes_on_here,separated_by_commas,and_no_spaces**

with

checkout,checkout_shipping,checkout_payment

(You will need to specify checkout - as shown - because FEC uses this page in place of checkout_shipping and checkout_payment. I include these two here, just to be sure.)

You should save the file to your over-ride template:

includes/templates/CUSTOM/common/tpl_main_page.php

If you don't currently have a common folder at this location, just create one.

what is an over ride template?
should i already have one of these?
i am struggling to see how i have a functional site, when i appear to have missed out on some pretty fundamental practices???

Yes, you already have an "override"... It's that template you are using.
