Server switch, can't access site.

v 1.3.8
I did search for the topic but nothing really stood out.

So I changed hosting companies, and followed the instructions here - http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.php/Server_Admin_-_Switch_Servers No matter what I do I keep getting this page - http://67.199.83.174/zencart/ I'm about to break down and add all our products again which would take hours. Any ideas? Sorry if I missed something obvious, or if this is a repost I didn't manage to find. Thanks.

Re: Server switch, can't access site.

Firstly REMOVE the zc_install folder from your site - anyone clicking on your link above could do some serious damage!

Have you checked your /includes/configure.php and made sure your defines are pointing into the right direction - including Db access details etc ?

also look at https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=100

Re: Server switch, can't access site.

Usually, that page means exactly what it says -your /includes/configure.php and/or /admin/includes/configure.php file contains invalid path information and/or invalid database-connection information

Please post the contents of the two files mentioned (without user or password info) and the URL of your site.

Re: Server switch, can't access site.

I deleted the install folder. Thanks for the help so far. Here's the code.

Re: Server switch, can't access site.

Another question. Would different versions of mysql cause this? Thanks.

Re: Server switch, can't access site.

Your DB prefix seems to be missing

// define our database connection
define('DB_TYPE', 'mysql');
define('DB_PREFIX', '');
define('DB_SERVER', 'MySQLC4.webcontrolcenter.com');
define('DB_SERVER_USERNAME', 'xxxxxxxxxxxxxx');
define('DB_SERVER_PASSWORD', 'xxxxxxxxxxxx');

If you can access your phpMyAdmin then check the prefix of your Zen Cart database and change the red line above in both files.

As an example, mine looks like this:

// define our database connection
define('DB_TYPE', 'mysql');
define('DB_PREFIX', 'zen_');
define('DB_SERVER', 'localhost');

If you can not access your phpMyAdmin or you don't know how to access it you will need to check with your hosting company.

Re: Server switch, can't access site.

are these path correct for the new server or are they the ones from the old server?

define('DIR_FS_ADMIN', '/clientdata/clients/j/a/jackiem.com.au/www/zencart/admin/');
define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', '/clientdata/clients/j/a/jackiem.com.au/www/zencart/');

you posted the admin/includes/configure.php twice

Re: Server switch, can't access site.

It turns out that the prefix wasn't the problem, never had one there to start with, but I appreciate the suggestion. As was pointed out I had the same config.php posted twice, which I thought was a copy/paste error, but it was the same way on my server. So everything worked out great there. Then I went to log in as an admin, incorrect password. Why? I have no idea, so that's fine, I go to have it send me a new password and I get this error.

Email Error: Could not instantiate mail function. Please check Admin->Configuration->Email Options->Email Transport.<<

Problem is I can't get there, cause I can't log in. Even though I know the password I used when it was on the old server somehow it's changed, or I'm just an idiot. Any ideas of what in the heck I've done wrong?

I do appreciate all the help, and I'm really sorry the initial problem was due to my own stupid mistakes. In 3 years I've never had a problem with zen cart, and it seems like I just don't have the knowledge I once had.

Re: Server switch, can't access site.

Jackie, once done with the above then don't forget to rename your admin folder!

tutorial here: https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=33
(I even got into the habit of changing the name of my admin folder periodically...)

and then take a good look at these recommendations:
