problems with having multiple photos per product

I finally have a fully-functional site at snicklefritzyarns.com/estore2 and have started selling my products.

I would like to show multiple photos for some of the products, but I'm having trouble getting this to work even after following the instructions at https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=58

In my images directory I have two files with the following names:
sockclub_01.jpg and sockclub_02.jpg

I uploaded sockclub_01.jpg as the main image. I thought that everything else with the same base name would be displayed at the bottom of that page, but nothing shows up there. I have "product - number of additional images per row" set to 3, yet I don't get anything other than the main photo at the top of the page.

Any ideas why this might not be working?

It is your mis-use of the "BASE NAME"
change the uploaded image assigned as the base image via the admin to

sockclub.jpg

Then your additionals as
sockclub_01.jpg
sockclub_02.jpg
sockclub_03.jpg
etc

I adjusted the names accordingly and used sockclub.jpg as the base name. For some reason the extra images still aren't showing up. Is there another setting somewhere that I should look at?
If it matters all the things are in /store/images

on a someone different note, is there a way I can have the moderators remove my URL from my original post? I tried to edit it but can't. (time limit is up). I shouldn't have put a direct link there, but not sure how to get rid of it now.

I have it set to 3 images.

I finally got it towork when I moved all the additional images from

/image to a subdirectory. then all of a sudden it started working again. Is this the way it is supposed to work? Or is there a problem with trying to use the _01 _02 scheme in the /images directory?

Jumping in late here...but wondering on the same question.... when I go to set it to "0" or "1" on multiple images there is only an option for me to pick true or false. SOooo...I picked true. Wondering where to actually put the additional images in?

And it's working in a fashion. I can see multiple images on this product page...

But when I click on the fourth image displayed (which is a repeat of the first image) It opens in a new window rather than in a 'light box' like the first three images?

Can anyone tell me how I stop the fourth image (which is just a repeat of the first image) from showing on the product page or failing that how do I stop it opening in a new window?

I am using Zen Cart 1.38
