Individual Item Shipping Calcuation.

We have several items that can not be boxed as multiples in one box (printers whole units etc) I have been taking the hit on orders because I do not know what else to do but I have just received an order in which I will lose over $1000 in shipping. Is there any way to have the shipping calculate the item as shipping individually? Also is there a good dimensional weight calclaltor?

I think per item shipping is standard shipping module in Zen Cart. Did you try that one?
You can also use Shipper rules such as UPS or USPS, it will give you dimensional rates based on the tables you set.

We ship with fedex and although I saw something that said "support dimensional weights" I have not been able to find where to put them.

Most of our items will not ship individually (bulk packing is ok) so we dont want it to be a site wide rule. just a per item rule. Is that an option?
