Product Feed

Hi All,
I am just trying to find a ecommerce solution that I can work eith easily!

I am in the process of creating a online store, my supplier provides a product feed that includes all the details of the product... category, details, price, IIMAGES etc.

Now this is the stumbling block the images are hosted on the suppliers server not the server that the shop will be hosted on... can Zen Cart handle this??

If Zen Cart can handle this... is there a easy way to upload all the products?

The product feed is downloaded in a .csv file.

Thanks for you time

Tony

Re: Product Feed

The upload of the data is accomplished through an existing module called Easy Populate CSV in the downloads section.

I am out of town, but if you PM me I will send you a beta copy of a script to serve the product images off site when I return. Take you about 30 minutes to install it.

Re: Product Feed

We all use some sort of data feed to manage our websites, Zen Cart has worked for all of us so it shouldn't be a problem to upload csv files using EP.

Why would you trust your supplier with the images?? What if you find a better price somewhere else, or their site goes down for some reason. Why don't you grab the images of their server and upload them to your own so your the captain of your own ship
