removing sidebox columns in category and product views
in my store, i've got people coming from many different websites to particular category numbers. such as, category 1 linked to from sites a and b, category 2 linked to from site c, category 3 linked to from sites d and e, etc, etc. MANY people surf directly into a given category instead of entering through our index page.
i'm currently controlling overall feel and branding of each category and product page using the css overrides, (c_1, c_2_1, c_2_2, etc) which is working out very well.
the one thing i'm not sure about is how to remove the left sidebox column in category and item views. basically - when a user is forwarded from another site into a particular category on my store (which is usually the case) - we don't want them to see the other categories. this is true for the products in that category as well.
so - what i need to do is remove the entire left sidebox column from the category and product view pages, so the product descriptions can take up all of the width of the page.
i'm not sure whether this can be done in the css overrides - it would be awesome if it could! if not, changing some code is fine.
any ideas?
