Digital Delivery- I need find or create module

Hi guys,

I'm looking for a module that will allow me to automatically send a customer an activation key from a database or file and mark the "delivered" status to deliverd immediately after them purchasing.

This will in effect send the customer an e-mail with their activation key and download instructions. I doubt there is a module available like this already so i could write my own. I know PHP pretty well so I'm sure I could write the code to do this but I'm not sure where to start or which files will need to be modified. Is there anyone here that can point me in the right direction?

Where would I find info on how zen cart works as a refference guide so that I can create checkout scripts that update order status etc. It seems like this page and forum doesn't have any info for developers.

Someone has created a module for this. I saw a post on it a couple of weeks ago. I'm not sure if the mod is in Free Add-ons, or whether you need to contact the person who built it. Do a bit of searching...
