Main Page Margin issue

Hello again to all,

I am once again at the end of my rope and need a push in the right direction...

I'm trying to decrease the margin between the navigation buttons I have on my site and my page content...

I've checked padding and margin for everything and nothing changes it... any advice is greatly appriciated

Re: Main Page Margin issue

Don't know what you are using to edit your files but viewing your source this is taking a line (see in red)

<!--eof-header logo and navigation display-->
<center><a href="http://forum.wepaythetaxes.com"><img src="/includes/templates/wepaythetaxes/images/forum_link.jpg" alt="Click To Access Forum" /></a></center>

<!--bof-optional categories tabs navigation display-->
<span id="line11">We Choose to keep it simple.</span><span id="line12">We Will Engage in Commerce</span><span id="line13">We will capitalize on opportunity</span><br />
<span id="line21">NO Surprises at checkout,</span><span id="line22">$3.00 each</span><span id="line23">Contact Us For</span><br />
<span id="line31">Only $1.00 S/H Charge,</span><span id="line32">3 For $5 or 7 For $10</span><span id="line33">Shirts & Magnets</span><br />

<span id="line41">NO Sales Tax <font color="#000000">(Not Yet Anyway)</font></span><span id="line42">Mix-N-Match</span><span id="line43">Coming Soon</span><br />

<!---<div id="navCatTabsWrapper">
<div id="navCatTabs">
<ul>
  <li><a class="category-top" href="http://www.wepaythetaxes.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=2"><span class="category-subs-selected">Bumper Stickers</span></a> </li>
</ul>
</div>
</div>
---!>
<!--eof-optional categories tabs navigation display-->

<!--bof-header ezpage links-->
<!--eof-header ezpage links-->
</div>

I would use the developers tools and search for "---!>"

Re: Main Page Margin issue

ok I think I got the --!> taken care of... can't find it in the source code and I got the firefox displaying the ---> taken care of but still no luck on the extra space between the nav bar and the add select... button... I've got the strong urge to say that I'm missing something outragously simple... but such is life I guess...

hopfully I won't feel to dumb :oops:

Re: Main Page Margin issue

Sorry, I guess I'm not seeing the problem. I thought at first you were asking about how to move the navMain stuff away (down) from being all jammed up against the header (add #navMain {margin-top:30px;} to the stylesheet). I would also move it to the left so it's centered on the header text and the boxes below (change margin:0; in #navMain ul to margin-right:35px; or whatever in em.

What else isn't right ?

Re: Main Page Margin issue

the space between the add selected products to cart and the home, bumper stickers, and login menu bar... I'd like to brign them closer together and yes once I get the spacing removed I plan on spacing everything else out a little bit....

Re: Main Page Margin issue

You can kludge it with some negative margin:

.centerColumn {margin-top:-20px;}
