Question about digital downloads and quantities

I sometimes have items that ONE OF KIND and with my digital downloads it will not subtract from the quantity can you tell me if there is a patch or download to fix this so that people do not have to email me for one of kind items but instead can order directly from my shopping cart

Thanks Angie
