Changing product listings to rows

:dontgetit Hello fellow/esses Zenners,

I have exhausted so many options and i am scuppered to say the least. I just know it';s gonna be summat real easy... to those that know hehe,

http://designawardrobe.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=3
This is the link to the page I would like to change from listing the product catagories in rows rather than columns: I'm thinking about 4 images per row.....

Can someone point me in the right direction please?

Many thanks
Maggie

What is your setting for:

admin >>> configuration >>> Maximum Values >>> Categories To List Per Row...

Re: Changing product listings to rows

Additionally... You have an empty right column.

Do you want a right column at all?

If not:

admin >>> configuration >>> layout settings >>> Column Right Status - Global... (set to 0).

Re: Changing product listings to rows

Hello, n thank you for taking a look for me.

Ok, I have changed the global setting to 0 for right columns, as I dont want them on this website and I had catagories to list per row as the default 3.

ive had another look through the config section, but Im still not quite there with how to change it over.

I know I am prob bein a 'derbrain' hehe,

What else is it I am missing please?

regards

Maggie

Re: Changing product listings to rows

Under: admin >>> configuration >>> images

What are your settings for:
**
Subcategory Image Width
Subcategory Image Height**

Make them a lot smaller...

**
Subcategory Image Width : 90
Subcategory Image Height : 60**

... see if that changes anything.

Failing that, you may have core functionality removed in your template, for this feature.

What happens if you switch templates BACK TO "classic" ?

Re: Changing product listings to rows

Was it the image size change that did the job?

Re: Changing product listings to rows

you know, i am bein such a muppet here; please forgive me cos im usually more on the ball! ive got em in rows n im meant to have said into grid catagory just like it does in classic.

I have been checking out various sources via the forum and using cdiff software to bring up the differences, n im still absolutley scuppered. ive tackled far more complicated stuff than this but i dunno what it is im overlooking.

Re: Changing product listings to rows

:frusty: I am still tryna work this out... can anyone help me PLEASE??? I have checked through the core files and after narrowing down the possibilities to change my sub-catagory from one column into rows instead, I am still learning and I am scuppered to say the least.

Im sure now the potential file to change is either:

  • catagory_row
  • listboxcontent
  • columanar or tabular

Im looking at these files, tryna compare them and still getting nowhere... I just cant understand this small issue.

Re: Changing product listings to rows

Please if anyone can help I will be soooo grateful :)

This is a copy of the bof--grid display ....

<!-- BOF: Display grid of available sub-categories, if any -->
<div class="categoryListBoxContents" style="width:33%;33%;"><a href="http://designawardrobe.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1_28"><img src="images/categories/booties-dramaqueen.jpg" alt="Baby booties" title=" Baby booties " width="57" height="57" /><br />Baby booties</a></div>
<div class="categoryListBoxContents" style="width:33%;33%;"><a href="http://designawardrobe.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1_8"><img src="images/b-beastie-baby-bl.jpg" alt="Boy's 12mths - 3yrs" title=" Boy's 12mths - 3yrs " width="57" height="57" /><br />Boy's 12mths - 3yrs</a></div>
<div class="categoryListBoxContents" style="width:33%;33%;"><a href="http://designawardrobe.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1_6"><img src="images/playsuit-lennon.jpg" alt="Boy's up to 12 months" title=" Boy's up to 12 months " width="60" height="57" /><br />Boy's up to 12 months</a></div>
<br class="clearBoth" />
<div class="categoryListBoxContents" style="width:33%;33%;"><a href="http://designawardrobe.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1_9"><img src="images/t_shirt_baby_punk.jpg" alt="Girl's 12mth - 3yrs" title=" Girl's 12mth - 3yrs " width="57" height="57" /><br />Girl's 12mth - 3yrs</a></div>
<div class="categoryListBoxContents" style="width:33%;33%;"><a href="http://designawardrobe.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1_7"><img src="images/playsuit-audrey-f.jpg" alt="Girl's up to 12 months" title=" Girl's up to 12 months " width="55" height="57" /><br />Girl's up to 12 months</a></div>
<br class="clearBoth" /> <!-- EOF: Display grid of available sub-categories -->

I can only imagine there is something that either needs adding or something needs changing to make it so that my sub-catagories appear in rows and not one single column... Ive tried EVERYTHING and not being totally up on css etc, I don't wanna mess too much and end up completley botching up what ive done so far.... any ideas anyone/..??
