Removing "New Products For..." from main page

I have tried to "New Products For..." from main page without success.

For example, setting sideboxes/whats_new.php to FALSE in all respects (from Tools > Layout Boxes Controller) does not affect the New Products box at all.

Do I need to edit a template in order to make this change, or is there an option within the admin interface that I am missing?

Thanks... Bill Malin

Re: Removing "New Products For..." from main page

You have sideboxes that appear on the left and right column ... these are controlled in the Tools ... Layout Boxes Controller ... to either turn them on or set their position ...

Then you have Centerboxes which appear in the middle of the page ...

These are managed in the Configuration ... Index Listing ... where the Centerboxes have a value of 0, to mean OFF and any other value is the Sort Order of the group of centerboxes ...

Then, to control "what" is a New Product you have a setting in the Configuration ... Maximum Values ...

New Product Listing - Limited to ...
Limit the New Product Listing to
0= All Products
1= Current Month
7= 7 Days
14= 14 Days
30= 30 Days
60= 60 Days
90= 90 Days
120= 120 Days
