Sort Order in Category

Look at http://glitzglamr.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=17

So there you see a list of products. All is good, we have a sort order defined. The silver heart flip flops are 1 on the sort order and are appearing at the top as they should.

Now click on the silver heart flip flops to go to the product detail page. If you look at the next/prev buttons, those flip flops are listed as 8/9 not 1/9.

How is the order determined for the next/prev buttons?

The Sort Order for each section of your shop is unique to its own setting ...

The Listing you have set to the Physical Sort Order number you have assigned ...

The Product _page has its own Sort Order setting in the Configuration ... Product Info ...

Previous Next - Sort Order
Products Display Order by
0= Product ID
1= Product Name
2= Model
3= Price, Product Name
4= Price, Model
5= Product Name, Model
6= Product Sort Order

I'm confused - I wasn't talking about the sort order for how the products are displayed on the page, I was talking about the sort order for the previous-next buttons and how the products are not ordered using the previous next buttons the way the sort order is set in the cart.

You have set the Sort Order for the Product Listing to be based on your Sort Order setting of the Product for the Category ...

You have NOT set the Sort Order for the Product Info page to "match" that Sort Order so the do NOT match ...

So, if you have the Product Listing in a Sort Order for the Product Sort Order and the Product Info in the order of the Product Name they will be different ...

Ok, well I thought I had this down, but I put 6a in Display Product Listing Default Sort Order under Admin > Configuration > Product Listing but nothing happened.

Let me try again ...

There are TWO settings involved here ...

1 Product Listing Sort Order

2 Product Info Sort Order

For the FIRST setting that is under the Configuration ... Product Listing ...

Display Product Listing Default Sort Order
Product Listing Default sort order?
NOTE: Leave Blank for Product Sort Order. Sort the Product Listing in the order you wish for the default display to start in to get the sort order setting. Example: 2a

If you want this sorted by the Product Sort Order then Leave it Blank, as the instructions say ...

For the SECOND setting that is under the Configuration ... Product Info ...

If you want the product _info page also to be sorted by the Product Sort Order, then set this to 6, as instructed ...
