how to disable the product notification display?

Hi -

When a customer successfully checks out in my shop, he gets a "Please notify me of updates to these products" box with the product he just bought in it. This is unnecessary for my site, as my stuff is all one-off items.

I traced the display of this box to the constant CUSTOMERS_PRODUCTS_NOTIFICATION_STATUS, but there the trail went cold. Can someone please tell me where this is defined (my file search doesn't detect it)?

Also, if there's a better way to disable this, I'm open to suggestion.

Admin - Configuration - Customer Details - Customer Product Notification Status set to 0
