Re: Installing Zen-Cart on Add-On Domain

Is the add-on domain registered? Does it point to your host's name servers?

Re: Installing Zen-Cart on Add-On Domain

Yes. Domain is registered and pointed the nameservers to the same nameservers of the main account about 4 days ago. Most guides on the net says to wait at least 48 but it has been way over that now so im not really sure what's wrong...
Are add-on domains supposed to work right away or are there other things to be done?

Re: Installing Zen-Cart on Add-On Domain

Installing on an add-on or subdomain shouldn't be an issue. It should work the same as if it had been installed in the root.

What happens if you put a plain index.html file in the directory? A "mock" home page... ?

@afo...That's what I thought but it shows 404 Not Found. Do I have to do anything in Cpanel?

@schoolboy...Nothing happens. Same 404 Not Found.

Re: Installing Zen-Cart on Add-On Domain

4 days to propogate seems a long time... Ask your host to investigate.

What if you do a tracert on the domain name?

Do you know how to do a tracert ?

Re: Installing Zen-Cart on Add-On Domain

Im talking with them now and they're saying that some files/folders are missing. What files/folders are supposed to be there when you create an add-on domain? Mine only had cgi-bin and ftpquota.

I did a tracert but im not too sure what is supposed to be there.

Re: Installing Zen-Cart on Add-On Domain

Thanks for all the help.
It's working now. It seems that the htacess on the main account was blocking the addon domain.

Re: Installing Zen-Cart on Add-On Domain

I was about to post this htaccess as a potential issue! However, seems like you go there first.
