Question Re: Shipping Zones

I am wondering about something related to shipping.

I do entirely free shipping in my store to the Contintal USA, if I configure the zone shipping to cover other areas, does it conflict with the free shipping to the USA?

I want to set up an additional charge to send things out to Europe, Canada etc., and how would it work, would they be charged the zone rates when they do the check out and enter their addresses etc. etc.

I unforutunately have an order from Denmark, and it provided them with free shipping so I need to fix this and the sooner the better.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Re: Question Re: Shipping Zones

Setup a Continental US zone, and set your free shipping to use it.

Then choose a module (table, flat, zone, etc) for all others and configure it.

You might consider choosing the countries that you wish to ship to and configuring them in an International zone to apply the shipping module to... So you are not shipping to places you wish not to.

Re: Question Re: Shipping Zones

Admin > Modules > Shipping > FREE SHIPPING: enable (set to True)

Shipping Zone: set to USA

Then go to Admin > Modules > Shipping > Zone Rates

Enable Zones: True
Skip Countries: US

Zone 1, 2, 3 etc: insert country codes and rates - add handling fee (if applicable), Update

Once the customer enters their shipping address during checkout or after creating an account Zencart knows which rate(s) to apply.

Oops, looks like Melanie has beaten me to the answer ......

Re: Question Re: Shipping Zones

Thanks
but still have a couple of questions...all of my items are set in the product description for free shipping rule applies, will this negate the shipping zones?

Thanks, trying to wrap my head around this one...I have 1700+ products and dreading changing them to normal shipping rules...do I have to?

thanks

Re: Question Re: Shipping Zones

On your Zone Shipping, what method are you using ...
Item
Price
Weight

You would need a work around as the Always Free Shipping was designed for everyone ...

However, depending on what you are setting up the Zone Rate zones shipping module for, there are simple and complicated methods that can accomplish this so only US gets Free Shipping and everywhere else gets the Zone Rate zones shipping module ...

On the:

how can I make sure that people do not place orders from overseas, Europe etc., my shipping is just to Canda and the USA

I am guessing you mean you don't ship to anywhere but US and Canada but grandma, in the UK, could buy for Tiny Tim in New York ... correct?
