Calculate price by number entered as text

Hi there,

I am trying to set-up the following but cannot see a way of doing it?

I want to sell electrical cables in specific lengths with a choice of connector on either end, the price of the cable is calculated by £x.xx per cm + £x.xx for connectors.

At first I was going to use a drop down for the lengths but the vast number of lengths and prices has made this a bit of a nightmare! (we are talking 5cm to 20m)

What I really need is an attribute for the customer to enter a length (in cm) then they select the connectors and zen cart works it out??????

Using the quantity box as a length box is out of the question because the store has other products that are not by length PLUS it screws the maths up because it would multiply the connector attribute too.

I've searched the forums, Google and the software add-ons but I cannot see anything that can do this?

I'm having the same issue with selling carpets. I would like to sell by square meter. It would be great if you could add "per square meter" after the price to make it clear. Rugs etc. will not be per square meter.
