Blank page at www.sitename.com/catalog/zc_install

Hi all,

New here and trying to install Zen Cart.

I have run through the install and I'm up to starting the installer. When I go to:

https://www.sitename.com/catalog/zc_install OR
https://www.sitename.com/catalog/zc_install/index.php

it comes up with:

The website cannot display the page
HTTP 500
Most likely causes:
•The website is under maintenance.
•The website has a programming error.

What you can try:
Refresh the page.

Go back to the previous page.

 More information

This error (HTTP 500 Internal Server Error) means that the website you are visiting had a server problem which prevented the webpage from displaying.

For more information about HTTP errors, see Help.

If I do the same in Firefox, it comes back with a blank page.

Going to https://www.sitename.com/catalog brings up a start page, so the site is accessible, I can get to files under /catalog.

I've checked all the permissions and even reset the catalog folder to full 777 permissions for all files and child files. The files appear to have been uploaded fine to the server and they all contain data (ie no 0 byte files) using Filezilla.

Now at a bit of a loss, what to do next?

thanks in advance.

Cassandra

Your file permissions are probably too permissive. Try changing them to 755

Cheers

Re: Blank page at www.sitename.com/catalog/zc_install

Hi there,

thanks so much for that.

I have had to uninstall and reinstall everything, I think I MAY have been missing a file as it is up and running now :)

I just have to try to learn to use it properly now :)

Thanks again
