Paypal AVS Address match: N

Hi

I have just notice this on a paypal card payment today.

AVS Address match: N
AVS ZIP match: N
CVV2 match: Y

Now according to paypals AVS and CVV2 Response Codes

N = No

None
Note:

The transaction is declined.

Please could some one enlighten my as to why this transaction has gone through.

If PayPal didn't actually Decline the card, then the order would go through. AVS settings alone are not enough to decline the order. The actual payment must also be declined, and that's determined by the response code that PayPal sends back, and not according to an AVS legend.

If you want AVS failures to reject the payment, you'll need to set that up in your PayPal settings -- you might need to talk to PayPal Support for specific help on how to do that.
