Search button text slightly off center

The text "search" on the search buttons is off-center and cut off when viewing the store, but it only affects IE8. Using compatibility mode fixes the problem. Here's a screenshot:

Which doesn't help others faced with the same problem.

If you found a fix for this, why not publish it and help someone else?

I didn't know of any fix at that time, hence the bump--to put the topic back on top of the forum so it gets more attention.

I've found a work-around, although it doesn't actually fix the problem. It simply forces IE to display your store in compatability mode. All you have to do is add the following line to your root htaccess file:

#Forces IE compatability mode
Header set X-UA-Compatible IE=EmulateIE7
