Can't activate Discount Coupons

I have installed voucher certificates and tested these and they appear to be working fine but now I want to offer first time customers 10% off their first order.

However when I go to: Modules/Order Total I can't click on Discount Coupon ot_coupon and also have an error on that page - Fatal error: Call to a member function format() on a non-object in /home/hidden/public_html/includes/modules/order_total/ot_gv.php on line 49

Discount Coupons use the ot_coupons in the Modules ... Order Totals ...

Gift Certificates or Gift Vouchers use the ot_gv in the Modules ... Order Totals ...

Discount Coupons and Gift Certificates are two totally different things ...

Gift Certificates are like cash and customers either purchase the Gift Certificates from you and can use them themselves or send them to friends, family etc.

Or, the Store Owner can send Gift Certificates from the Admin to the Customer ...

But again ... Gift Certificates are cash ...

Discount Coupons can be for:

1 Percentage off

2 Amount off

3 Free Shipping

but not a combination of these 3 methods ...

I have gift certificates set up and working fine.

I want to offer new customers 10% off using the coupons mod.

I replaced the files and working fine now but am confused how to make the coupon work for new customers only.

1. coupon name - new customer discount
2. coupone discount - 10%
   3.Coupon Minimum Order - 0
3. Free Shipping - 0
4. Coupon Code - NEW10
5. Uses per Customer - 1

I only want the coupon to work for new customers and not current ones.

There is nothing built into Zen Cart, at this time, to check that there have been no previous orders made ...

You can set the Discount Coupon up for Unlimited use but only 1 user per customer ...

I don't have a problem tbh with previous users getting a discount so it's ok.
