Disable FLAT RATE ENVELOPE on one product (shipping estimator)

ZenCart 1.3.8 / Have latest USPS update

I sell DVD's, poster, t-shirts, and heavy motorcycle race gear. The Flat Rate Envelope option on the shipping estimator is great for selling small items internationally, but it's horrible when someone selects it for a 17 pound motorcycle leather race suit. Can't fit that in an Express Mail Envelope! Is there a way to disable USPS Flat Rate Envelopes (Express and Priority) for a specific item?

Maybe it's simple or perhaps there's a module that will allow me to control what shipping options are available per product. I'm lost on this one.

You could check the $type and based on the weight skip various types ...

Or, you could check the $type and based on certain Products in the Order you could skip various types ...

...and that right there is where you lost me! lol

I'm sure a piece of code could be added, but I'm only brave enough to hack code with specific direction of where and how. Any guidance would be a HUGE help!

You first have to determine is it the weight that controls when a particular $type does or doesn't show ... or is it products_id in the cart that determines when a particular $type does or does not show? :unsure:

In this case, I thinking targeting a specific product ID would be better. I think that gives me more specific control on a per item basis which can be easily managed. Any other method might "overlap" some other product's shipping needs in the future and cause more problems.
