Easy Populate Advanced 3.0.3

HI all, I have installed EP anvanced 3.0.3 and having an issue. when i try to run it i get the following error...

Your uploads folder is either missing, has incorrect permissions, or does not correspond with the Easy Populate configuration. Please confirm that the Easy Populate Configuration contains the correct location of an existing folder. Easy Populate cannot operate until you have provided an uploads folder with read/write permissions. Note that these permissions are required by PHP and your web server application. Usually permissions equal to chmod 700 are required, but you may require chmod 777 depending on your hosting server setup.

I have verified the folder is there and have set parmision to 777 but still get the same error.. the path to the folder is also correct to /home/moodeals/uploads/....

any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated....

Re: Easy Populate Advanced 3.0.3

General consensus seems to be to just use version Easy Populate v1.2.5.4 - I used EP for the first time yesterday as it happens, a right pain in the A it was until I discovered the new and improved versions are as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike.

Stick to v1.2.5.4, do a search for Schoolboy's wiki entry, read that, and you won't have too many problems - I uploaded 3000 products yesterday and so far apart from a few missing images which I can live with, all is good

Flux1231:

/home/moodeals/uploads/....

Under ADMIN >>> CONFIGURATION >>> EASY POPULATE...

I think you just need to specify the folder NAME - if it is in the root of your ZC installation...

Don't worry about /home/moodeals/ ...

Just specify it as uploads/

Re: Easy Populate Advanced 3.0.3

Oh... and make sure the folder itself is called uploads.

Re: Easy Populate Advanced 3.0.3

Is your zencart installed in the ROOT directory (eg: public_html), or do you have it in a sub-folder?

Re: Easy Populate Advanced 3.0.3

Easy populate advanced generate the files outside the store root. Which means your uploads file needs to be outside the public_html folder and in the same level as public_html. This is due to security reason. If the files are generated in the public html they would be accessed by anyone who has minimal hacking experience and they can basically download your whole store.

I have been using the advanced version for a year now and I can't be happier. You can setup the product_id as identifier.

Since you already have it installed I truly suggest you keep it. Once you learn how to use it, you would see how much you can do with it. The only down side is there is not much support but you won't really need support the document file has a lot of information.

Re: Easy Populate Advanced 3.0.3

Hello There,

I was using the free version of Easy Populate and decided due to the ability to import meta tags to buy the Advanced version.
I've installed it without any problems, but can't import my old file.
It doesn't allow me to (with a blank shop) to import the file and for it to create the categories (v_categories_name_1, v_categories_name_2 etc).
I can't get any response from Zenbuilder, user on here is langer. So if anyone has any documentation that'd be great.
