138 mods tested on 139

Shane78:

do people still want me to crack on with this?...

I'd have though that now 1.3.9a is officially released and stable that many of the developers of mods will be looking at their own creations a lot more in-depth than what i have done... and on a skill level that far exceeds mine!!!!!!!

Reworking them in ways that they know best!I personally think this is VERY useful.. So I have bookmarked this thread and will be keeping my eye out on it..

bunyip:

Just a note - Improved Attributes Controller is not needed with v1.3.9 - functionality the mod provided is now included in the core file. Thanks for this tip!!!!

Re: 138 mods tested on 139

oh ya see, this worries me...

I have already got some of my tests wrong!

I said IH2 works great on 139, and while YES it works... in fact it mods a core file. and a core file that has been re-written since 138a...

so i replaced new code with old, and didnt notice until someone pointed this out!!!

and while i want to be helpful, i might be doing more harm than good...

SO i Stress, this thread is just a noobs documentation of what I got working.. Until the mods have been updated as 139a and PHP5.3 compatible by their authors in the downloads section.. any comments i make should be taken very very lightly and only intended as a starting block!!

Re: 138 mods tested on 139

I think you may have misunderstood my intent.. So let me be clear.. I have no intention of using this as an end all be all resource of what works and what doesn't.. For me, this thread is simply a guideline so when I begin MY OWN testing my updated Zen Cart code I know where the POSSIBLE gotchas might be.. I think it makes absolute sense for any one to make sure they do their own testing, and I for one will be using this thread as a guideline..

Re: 138 mods tested on 139

I have not misunderstood your intent at all, i am fully aware your ZC skill set outweighs mine! You are one of the Zenners i look to for advice.

you know where the possible gothas are!! but there are a LOT of new zenner arriving.. and even more zenners who just have a basic skill set to ZC (see general questions & First Steps).

That is what worries me, that i might give wrong information to people a lot less savvy than zenners like you... ultimately doing more harm than good!!.. to the noobs reading this and to the community. From my view point, their are what? several thousand active users?.. and what?.. 100 or so ZC Gods active on the forum? and a quick look in any mod forums you will see lots of questions asked that are answered in the mods FAQ or docs that come with said mod.

thats why im stressing to ppl that the mods i test, should be triple checked.. the mods other ppl has tested as OK and have been listed... fill ya boots.. they're a lot more knowledgeable!

Re: 138 mods tested on 139

Has anyone had success converting the Dual Pricing/Wholesale mod to 1.39? I've been trying to carefully merge any changes into the new file versions using WinMerge ... but some of the files are so heavily different, I honestly can't tell what's mod-related and what are core changes!

I did not have any troubles adding
SuperOrders 2.0v48
Fual Slimbox
Contact Sidebox
Google Analytics
as others confirmed as well.

Re: 138 mods tested on 139

If anyone is successful with Google Checkout v1.4.7 please post here.

USPS is currently not working with Google Checkout at the moment. When I try to go through checkout with Google Checkout I get all shipping rates except for USPS.

Re: 138 mods tested on 139

Cheers for that.. did any of these require any core files edits and edits of core files that have changed in 139?

I will be doing another list of all mods tested by myself and others later tonight!!! Please fellow testers help....

if you test a mod that requires a core file to be winmerged and esp a file that has been rewriten for 139... let it be known!!

cheers!

on another note, i was just about to try SMS on Sale by Mr Wilson.. but my phone provider doesnt provide a email to sms gateway... they used to, for free.. the tight sods!

Re: 138 mods tested on 139

To be totally clear, all these mods tested on ZenCart 1.3.9a, have they been tested on a PHP 5.3 server?

Entirely doubtful.

It would be helpful if everyone who tested 138 mods on 139 installs states her/his php version when they tested a mod.

That information should then be added to the list compiled so far.

Re: 138 mods tested on 139

not from me, my server run 5.2.9

to be fair, this thread is a rough guide... to help people get started.

pretty much ALL of the mods tested and listed in this thread need the authors/or a developer to update the mod information in the downloads section!

As yet, i have not come across any mods with the info in red below updated to 139 in the downloads section
Item Name Last Modified Z.C. Version Mod Version

this thread is simply a 'heads up' for people like me (non-programmers) to update their ZC stores.

Sorry,

Oh, and the server runs on PHP5.2.5 only.

Shane78:

SuperOrders requires core edits to be made in step 2 and 3. The file includes/classes/order.php is a mandatory edit, so you may want to winmerge it as there appear to be some additional core changes within the versions aside from the Superorder edits.

Step 3 has 'optional' changes, so if you want to implement those, I recommend winmerging those as well. I did.

Now back to my "dual pricing nightmare" ... and I though updating a customized Joomla site was a pain ... it's a cake walk compared to this! lol
