Displaying two prices on product page - HELP!!!

I've posted a couple of times about this recently, and I don't mean to be a pest but does ANYONE have a solution for displaying two prices on the product page at the same time?

I would like to display the full retail price as well as an Advantage price, where if a customer signs up they would receive a 30% discount. Both prices would be seen regardless if a customer is in the discounted price group or not. It would be a visual incentive for someone to sign up for the monthly autoship program It would display like this:

Retail Price: $186.00
Advantage Customer price: $129.95

The only way a customer would get the lower price would be to sign up, at which point I would add them to the group. Otherwise the full retail price would be calculated. In other words, as a previous poster mentioned, it would be Dual Pricing or Group Pricing plus the display capability of MSRP (without the line through the retail price). I hope I'm making sense!

I've read every post for Dual Pricing and Group Pricing Per Item, but I'm not seeing the exact code that needs to be used. I realize that I can just add the second price to the product description, but I'd only like to do that as a last resort. I think a lot of people can benefit from this capability.

I've been staring at the code for over a week and even though I can hack PHP pretty well I'm just not seeing what to do. I'm using ZC 1.3.8a and have tried the most recent versions of Dual Pricing and Group Pricing Per Item.

Thanks very much in advance!

Re: Displaying two prices on product page - HELP!!!

I use Dual Pricing for this, but you have to register to get/see the lower price. You could use banners to tell people they will get a better price if they sign up. Or, you could place an extra line in the product price div, something like "login or register to get 30% off". You can add customers manually or you could use DP v.1.4.2 so your customers receive wholesale level automatic upon registration.
Unfortunately, I don't know how to make all visitors see your advantage price. Then again, what's the point of showing both prices to everyone? In that case, only an idiot wouldn't register. Also, the first thing that would go through my head would be "why doesn't he simply show the lower price and that's it, he's lurking me to register... why?"

I also use CWOA (Checkout WithOut Account) and if you go through checkout without an account, retail price is applied.

BTW, I've noticed i got a lot of registered users this way and a lot of newsletter subscribers.

I see your point, and you have some good suggestions. Probably what I'm going to have to do is to put in an extra line in the product price div like you mentioned. But I do think there is value in displaying both prices.

Most people are visual, and if they see what they could be saving if they sign up, it's a great conversion tool. Also, quite a few are not going to want to sign up if they're not sure they're going to purchase anything. It's an extra step that may make some customers go to another vendor who has the prices displayed already without having to sign up. I know they can use a fake email address just to see the prices, but then that gives me extra work to purge the database of '[email protected]' or whatever.

I used to maintain a friend's shopping cart, and that did have the ability to display both prices. It was either a Miva or Volusion cart, I can't remember. The capability did come in handy.

Another ZC-er PM'd me w/a possible solution, which I'm going to try and if I can get it to work I'll post it and give him a huge shout-out!
