Package Deals in ZenCart?

Hello All,

I was wondering if you can create package deals with ZenCart. I am looking for the process to look the same as when you make a laptop online.

I would like the customer to chose a processor, then be able to click next and be prompted to chose maybe a video card or some other component. Then be able to checkout.

Is this possible on ZenCart?

Thanks,
Nick

Re: Package Deals in ZenCart?

Sure can. Simple way is to just price by attributes.
Here is a place to start https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=57
All in all with Zen, you are really only limited by your imagination (and your ability to write code, or pay someone to do it for you)

Good Luck

Re: Package Deals in ZenCart?

Hey,

Thank you for the answer but I do not think you quite understand. I am looking for something like this...

http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&oc=DKCWMN1&s=dhs

In this you can personalize everything about the laptop before you chose.

Another example is with poker chips. I am looking for a way to allow the person to chose what type of poker chips they want, and instead of going to their cart, the website would then take them to a place where they can choose what type of case they would like for their chips as well as how much this would add on to their total.

For instance say the person wants 100 red clay poker chips. The website would then allow them to choose a case. If they chose the aluminum case it will add nothing to the total, however if they also chose to have the wooden case, then the total for the package raises up $50. Then after this the person can add any extras such as dealer chips and decks of cards. Then the store brings them to the checkout. This is what I am looking for.

Thanks,
Nick

Re: Package Deals in ZenCart?

I **think **I understand the question, not sure you get the answer. Either you can simply price your items by attributes, (have a starting price, and add options, all on one page in the product info page) which can be done by Zen Cart as it comes "out of the box" thru the Admin.

What Dell has done is very sophisticated stuff. That having been said, Zen **can be modified **in most any way you choose. It's amazingly robust software.

Real question is, can you do it yourself, or do you need to hire a designer/programmer to do it for you?

Hope it's a little more clear, but sometimes I struggle writing out a coherent thought.

Re: Package Deals in ZenCart?

Hello,

Thank you for your help, but I do not think this will work so I will most likely be using the cross sell mod for my store. Thank you much though.

Thanks,
Nick
