Bulk move or update products into a new category...
So the closest thread I could find on these forums was here:

but unfortunately I haven't found any such module. Anyways, I cannot help but think what I want to accomplish would be pretty easy with some SQL. Here's what I want to do:
I have about 2000 products or so that were imported from my manufacturer into a category called "NEW". Amongst these products there are a few hundred different product lines where the product name begins with the name of the product line.
For example:
Adore-701, Adore-702, Adore-702-4, Adore-705
Chic-40, Chic-41, Chic-50
etc etc
The easy part here is that each model line represents a specific feature that is used for categorization. Ergo, all of the Adore-* products would go into category "X", all Chic-* would go to category "Y" and so on.
I should also mention that more than 1 product line could be found within 1 category. As another example, Category "X" might contain products from the Adore-* and Belle-* lines.
What would the SQL query look like if I wanted to select and update all products where name is like "Adore" and move them to a new category?
Likely if I knew this piece, a module could be forthcoming. :P
Question for extra credit: same example as above but instead of moving the product, the update instead links to a new category.
