Help with upgrading to the new zen cart

Hi can someone please tell me how to update my new zen cart

I have a old copy of my zencart 1.38a on my laptop and i have just loaded the new zencart onto my server can someone please tell me how i can get my 250 products from and template from my old zencart to my new zencart 1.39.

Thanks for your info but after reading that it seems very had to do is there a easy way to get my products from my back up file on my computer over to the new site on the website can i tranfer some folders or something.
