ting reasons for slow load

hello again and thanks in advance :)
just wondered if anyone knew of an idiot proof way of detecting why it takes so long for pages on the site to load.

is there a website, or a firfox add on or a diagnostic of sort sort that you can run?

please assume that you are dealing with a novice (because you are ;) )

i am relatively new to all this building malarkey hehe

so in summary...a way of finding out what is making my pages take so long to load...

THANK YOU X :)

There are lots of reasons a website might be slow to load. Have you optimized your images?

Re: ting reasons for slow load

This website is very good, its a free service and it gives you a detailed breakdown of every part of your site.

http://www.websiteoptimization.com/services/analyze/

and I just noticed this one too... https://www.google.com/websiteoptimizer which I'm gonna go and try out!

Image sizes and formats are one of the main culprits for slowing down a website. .jpg format works best, try to keep sizes manageable (800 x 600 pixels) or so.

Thank you, that was really useful.
