Single Product Needs Different Ship Method

Our shop utilizes a drop ship from a non-controlled warehouse. In most cases, this works fine and they only ship UPS. As long as the module predicts the price correctly, we are fine.

However, there are about 5 items that we have decided to ship from our office due to their small size and weight. UPS costs 10-12 dollars to ship and we USPS out for about $2.50

Is there a way to make certain items only offer the 1 shipping option? If I only allow UPS, I will never get orders on these items because the shipping will be 2-3 times the cost of the item.

I would like to just have these certain items offer USPS and the rest of the catalog offer UPS shipping only.

Any help is appreciated.

What happens when you have a mixed cart?

Can you take these 5 products and just add to the UPS shipping cost if these 5 Products were setup with 0 weight and then a calculation was added to customize the UPS shipping module?

Thanks for the reply. I would not worry about mixed carts if it would default to the UPS solution at that point.

I simply want to protect my shipping costs and value to the customer on the small, lightweight and inexpensive items.

Is there anything in the products table to identify these Products such as all having the same:
manufacturers_id
master_categories_id

where no other Product would have those same values?
