Can't update EZ pgs or add Prod Images

I'm getting some really frustrating errors in my admin panel.

Here's a bit of history on the problems:
I built the shop on a test domain and then moved it over to the real one, but accidentally installed the fresh install to httpS://mydomain.com and not the http://nonsecure spot.

Now the Problems:
I cannot upload anything nor can I change page content from the EZpages editor. It is acting exactly like a file permissions problem (and even gives me file permissions errors) but all of the permissions are set correctly. I think it has something to do with the site being installed to the secure domain. When I add an s to the http on my bar and switch it over to secure then it works and lets me edit files(i get to write in the EZpage box), but the save never works. Order processing is fine...nothing is wrong with the customer side.

I'm running version 1.3.8p3.

Any ideas or things I can try? I appreciate any help you could give...:)

there are no file permission restriction for Ez pages . there are no files to modify . all content of EZ pages are stored in Database , so i assume you are referring to Define pages ??

Yes, that's correct. Goodness I was tired. :D I was a bit burned out from working on the switch all day.

It's the Define Page editor (among other things like adding an image to a product upload) that aren't working. I went through all of my folders last night and checked permissions...all of which are set correctly, and I even tried to disable ssl in the admin through the configure.php files. None of which worked. Any ideas? :(

Ok update...I was able to get the product image upload to work (changed images chmod to 777 from 644) again but the define_page editor is still down. It's not THAT big of a deal as I can just modify the files and then ftp them...I've also read that securing the entire admin side has solved this for another similar case in 2007, so I'm going to talk with my host and see if they can fix/do that.

you should set your FOLDERS to 755 and your FILES to 644 permission setting .

if you leave your folder set to 777 you will allow everyone to write to that folder , that includes hackers.

Thank you, Tony. :) I've changed over the settings to the correct ones and have gone through additional articles on securing my install. I really appreciate your help...I still don't have it all working but at least my product upload is back! :D

are you setting the permission on correct define file ?
when you try to modify your define page from admin , you should see a message indicating that file is not writable ( no permission ) make sure is that specific file ( correct file path ) is the file that you are setting the permission for .

Yup...That's where the mystery is. The permissions on those files and on that folder are correct. When my admin is on an unsecure connection and the address bar reads http://.. the permissions error comes up. When I add an s and make the connection secure https://... The message disappears and I can actually edit in the box for the page I'm on. The edits refuse to save though and I automatically revert to an unsecure url when the page refreshes.

im sorry , maybe a guru can help out about this . is odd that you revert from secure to non secure page during saving your define , it might be a problem with SSL installation or you might have a problem with your Configure.php file located in your admin / includes Folder ..
